These organizations have been a huge help to me in my creative writing journey. But please don't ask me to explain their varying takes on the use of the apostrophe in the plural possessive of writer.

The Writer's Center in Bethesda, Maryland, offers workshops, courses, readings, critique groups, and a quiet space in which to write.

Maryland Writers' Association runs an annual conference and monthly chapter meetings, publishes a newsletter, and is a treasure trove of resources for writers of all ages, experience levels, and aspirations.

Eastern Shore Writers Association runs the annual Bay to Ocean Writers Conference and other literary events on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Washington Independent Review of Books reviews books and runs an annual conference in the DC metro area.
